MSC Cruises - Bella vs Fantastica vs Aurea

MSC offers 3 types of onboard experiences for most cabin offerings – Bella, Fantastica, and Aurea.  We like to compare this to an airplane, with Bella being the “Basic Economy” ticket, Fantastica is “Standard Economy”, and Aurea is “Premium Economy”, with Yacht Club being “First Class” to the max (but not discussed here).

All ships offer these 3 experiences for travelers and each are very, very different.

Bella offers the lowest rates onboard – while leaving the cabin assignment (guarantee) up to the cruise line to assign within a few days of your voyage (we’ve booked a lot of these and many of our guests get upgraded!).  Bella assigns your dining as well.   Sadly there is no way to guarantee adjoining cabins, deck locations, or make any changes once the cabin has been assigned.

Fantastica Experience allows you to select your cabin based on category selected, priority choice of dinner seating, free in-cabin breakfast, and the ability to make changes to your cabin & cruise.  Fantastica experience includes free continenal breakfast in stateroom (free delivery) and 24-hour room service (no delivery fee).

In addition to the Fantastica perks, Aurea comes with priority embarkation & disembarkation, a bottle of prosecco & chocolates/macaroons, stateroom enhanced with Aurea spa soaps & a room diffuser, enhanced pillow menu & bedding, spa discounts, a dedicated restaurant with My Time dining, unlimited access to the thermal spa, and a private suneck.
