MSC Cruises gives all guests a traditional main dining option, buffet, and 24 hour room service. Newer ships offer upgraded specialty dining options, including Butcher’s Cut, Hola Tacos, Ocean Cay Restaurant, and more.
Main Dining on MSC is at set times on the ship, depending on how many guests are on the ship. When booking, you can select early or late dinner (Bella or Fantastica); where Aurea & Yacht Club guests are granted My Time dining.

MSC buffets tend to be plentiful and open from 6AM until 1130PM or later on most ships.
Room service is a set menu across all experience types, with a small delivery fee for Bella Bella. Continental breakfast is typically complimentary, and meal items & snacks might come with a charge.
Below we’ve included a sizeable amount of photos & dining room menus.
When MSC started offering cruises to Americans, their food was still VERY European – where they’d have amazing & exquisit food but it wasn’t super spicy. They also had very few entrees & items that appealed to Americans; however just after Covid, MSC enhanced their US sailings with more Americanized recipes, spices, and items. We’ve had over 15+ sailings on MSC and the food has gotten much, MUCH better – in fact, their steakhouse is among the best at sea. We find MSC’s food on par, if not better, than pretty much every ‘trunk’ cruise line out there.
Main Dining Room is open for breakfast and dinner on most days, and lunch during seadays. Your table assignment & time will be printed you on your sea card.
Menus are typically available on the Information TVs throughout the ship and some ships have them available on the MSC&Me app.
Most ships have 3 dining rooms based on the experience purchased. If you miss your time slot, you can check with each dining room host to see if they can seat you, however it will need to be at one of the assigned times.
Specialty dining is available on most ships, but not all. Most restaurants are available to prepurchase thru us when you book – we typically see a 3 restaurant option (Butchers Cut, Hola Tacos, and Teriyaki or Asian) around $100 pp. It is recommended you make reservations in advance for specialty dining as space may be limited.
Musica-class ships (2006-2010) have an oriental type restaurant & sushi bar, available ala carte. The prepaid option is normally a set menu.
Fantasia Class ships (2008-2013) have Butcher’s Cut & some type of asian-bistro/sushi bar.
Meraviglia Class ships (2017-2023) & Seaside Class ships (2017-2022) have Butchers Cut, Kato Tepanyaki & Sushi, Hola Tacos, a seafood restaurant, and some sort of chocolatier shop (where they make chocolate ONBOARD!).
